…and next?

How will we carry out this day’s list, wanting to know God’s will and purpose to be done here on earth as it is in heaven? That’s the biggie-size question for most of us each day as we begin and try, again and again, looking for glimpses of energy, hope, and peace to guide our steps.

As we ponder the list of today …and next? a weariness enters the pages of our mind, robbing its space and control. We want to trust and believe that God is in control of the list; though, at times throughout the day, we hold on to the list with a tight grip that does not allow God to be God.

Have you ever tried to push your way through the daily list in your own strength? Have you found yourself at the end of that day used up, exhausted, and even depressed because you have depleted yourself in so many areas?

How does someone click the delete key on the pages of responsibilities and needs on the list?

The list, and its pages of weariness and burdens we find ourselves involved with, is at times overwhelming and intoxicating to the point of shutdown.

God, You have given us the following words of assistance, support, and reassurance to live by. We are thankful to be able to write Your words down as a testimony to our daily journey unfolding within today’s list.

“And whatever you do (no matter what it is) in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in (Dependence upon) His Person, giving praises to God the Father through Him.” – Colossians 3:17

“Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid; neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. (I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.)” – Matthew 11:28

“Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think, the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” – Romans 12:2

Within Your Word is the mystery of the adventure of this day’s list and its accomplishments hidden?

This could be a wondrous gift unfolding in our lives and providing health to our bodies if we could somehow find the key to the door that unlocks the life God has intended for us. Just imagine living and working with freedom, joy, peace, and productivity.

God, You are as close as the next breath I take.
You breathed the world and mankind into existence.
You hold the key in your hand that reaches out to my heart with love beyond anything I could search for on this earth.
Beyond the beyond, You are love, joy, and hope to those who ask You to unlock the door of their heart, allowing You to come in so they can have a relationship with You.
How comforting it is to know that You are willing to listen and be our friend. Total acceptance, forgiveness for ignoring You, and recycling broken lives is Your specialty.
Thank you because that can take us into the deep waters and shadows of despair.

…and next?

Today: It’s The List…

Work…in Your strength, wisdom, and courage.

Duties…prioritized and margins of time made available.

Opportunities…to give and serve others with excellence.

Tasks…encountered with peace within the pressures.

Challenges…faced head-on as You give us energy to sustain and endure through the outcomes.

Guidance…shining as the expression of our faith in You as decisions are made and things are resolved face-to-face with Your advice.

Direction…through all things The List presents with the impossible being possible through Your Word that is living, breathing, and penetrating our souls as a compass of true North.

Purpose…to prayerfully commit The List to You to be refreshed and renewed in our mind, body, and soul, which praises Your wonderful work in us.

…and next?

We prayerfully ask for Your Vision, Power and Provision, Grace and Mercy to lead the way.

Loosen our grip on everything and everyone.

We praise You with confidence to accomplish and fulfill our list of responsibilities knowing all things will glorify You no matter what the outcome is here on this earth.

We will learn from today, and in the future we will be able to invest into someone else’s life a testimony of what we have discovered through this adventure with You.

Love has taught us what love demands… an open heart, hand, and soul with trust in God who is faithful.

…and next?

You will whisper to our hearts and let us know that You are able to do immeasurably more than we could imagine or are capable of comprehending on today’s list.

Done.

Finished.

Completed.

Work well-done living in the fullness this day offered through God!

“I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work… Who is so great a God as our God?” – Psalm 77:11-13
