Encouragement for a Peacefull Heart

There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t need some kind of encouragement.

Why?

Because life moves in as we start our day with unfolding plans, schedules, and problems. Each step we take has it’s own agenda as it gives direction to our day.

In the midst of trying to arrange the day, things creep in as we try and block out time for God and busyness also invades our space. Things do not always work out according to plan, but we do know if we continue to “trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him,” then somehow the unfolding day shows up with encouragement.

Early this morning, I decided to go outside and water my garden. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with much to do and deadlines to meet. The garden area is very peaceful and I am able to put things into perspective. Being in the garden helps me decide what to tackle first. The garden has a way of simplifying my life.

As I began to water, I came upon a lone sunflower that bloomed overnight. It seemed to say to my heart, “Have a good day, Love God!” Encouragement filled my soul and I knew not everything on my schedule was important and had to be done today. At that very moment I became thankful to God and visually had a conversation with the sunflower that brought Peace, Hope, and Joy to my day that needed encouragement.

Do you need encouragement?

Does the state of uncertainty, expectations of people/family and your work along with anxiety and worry, steal your daily encouragement for a good day?

God has a plan for your life: “pour out your hearts before Him.”

Go out today looking for your sunflower of encouragement. Try to not get so busy that you can’t hear the sunflower say, “Have a good day, Love God!”
